‘Handsome Guy:’ Biden mocks Trump’s mugshot

Washington, Aug 25 (EFE).- United States President Joe Biden Friday took a light-hearted jab at his predecessor, Donald Trump’s mugshot following his indictment over alleged interference in the 2020 presidential election.

“I did see it on television,” Biden told reporters asked if he had seen the photo, released after Trump was booked and processed at Fulton County jail on Thursday.

“Handsome guy. Wonderful guy,” the president chuckled.

The president spoke to the press as he emerged from a pilates class during his family vacations at Lake Tahoe in Nevada.

Trump has become the first former US president to have his mugshot taken.

The image was released by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday evening, shortly after Trump turned himself in to authorities.

The charges against Trump include 13 counts related to his alleged attempt to overturn the outcome of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia, where he narrowly lost to Democrat Joe Biden.

Trump is using the photograph, in which he appears defiantly scowling, to raise funds for his campaign to secure the Republican nomination and challenge Biden in the 2024 presidential race.

He has also returned to Twitter, now known as X, after a two-year absence, using the same image.

The photo is prominently displayed on his campaign website to encourage donations.

“At the notoriously violent jail in Fulton County, Georgia, I was ARRESTED despite having committed NO CRIME,” the campaign wrote in the fundraising message, claiming that Trump’s legal battles are “election interference.” EFE
