International Desk, Sep 7 (EFE).- Russia’s anti-aircraft systems shot down drones in the southern city of Rostov-on-Don and one in a district of Moscow in the early hours of Thursday, according to officials.
“Air defense systems shot down 2 UAVs, one fell outside the city in the western part of Rostov, the second – in the center,” Rostov region governor Vasily Golubev reported on his Telegram account.
He said that facades and several cares were damaged, while windows of three buildings had been broken in the incident at around 3 am in Rostov-on-Don.
“One person sought medical help with cut wounds to his legs; he refused hospitalization,” Golubev added.
BNO News posted a video of what it claimed was a “drone shot down near Russia’s military headquarters in Rostov-on-Don, causing an explosion on the ground.”
Meanwhile, in Moscow, air defenses also struck down a drone overnight, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
“Tonight, an attempted drone attack on Moscow was foiled by air defense forces in the Ramensky district,” he wrote on Telegram.
“According to preliminary information, there are no damage or casualties at the site of the falling debris. Emergency services are working on the site.”
Rostov-on-Don, a city very close to the Sea of Azov and the Russian-occupied Ukrainian region of Donetsk, has a population of more than 1.1 million people. EFE
