Dozens of people were also killed during Israeli airstrikes in a residential area of Deir al-Balah, in the center of the Gaza Strip.

Despite the ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) that declared itself competent on Jan. 26 to study the accusation of possible “genocide” presented by South Africa against Israel, more than 100 daily deaths have continued to be recorded in the Gaza Strip.

In northern Gaza, medical sources from Kamal Adwan Hospital reported the arrival of dozens of bodies following the withdrawal of Israeli troops from the north.

In Gaza city, the military siege of Al-Shifa Hospital persisted for the sixth consecutive day, preventing civilians from being evacuated amid intense bombings in the vicinity of the hospital, Wafa reported Sunday.

The Israel Defense Forces announced Sunday that it had killed several terrorists and carried out raids on infrastructure controlled by Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in the western part of Khan Yunis.

Israeli troops “raided a building with several floors that was used by the commander of the Khan Yunis Brigade for combat management and found many weapons, including Kalashnikov rifles, cartridges, military equipment, and technological assets,” the IDF said.

At least four other militants, including “a sniper of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization” were killed in Khan Yunis in artillery and air attacks

“Seven Hamas terrorists” were also killed in similar operations in the north of the Strip, according to the IDF.

For weeks, Israel has been focusing its offensive in Khan Yunis, after which it is expected to advance towards the city of Rafah, the southernmost point of the enclave and bordering Egypt, where more than 1.1 million people are displaced.

Some 27,365 people have been killed and more than 66,630 wounded since the war between Israel and Hamas began on Oct. 7, according to data from the Gazan health ministry. EFE
