“She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Presley was taken to hospital from her Calabasas, California, home after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest, TMZ first reported.

“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time,” Priscilla wrote on Facebook.

On Tuesday night, Presley and her mother attended the Golden Globes Awards with actor Austin Butler, who won Best Actor for his role as Elvis in the Baz Luhrmann film.

Tributes poured in from the showbiz world after the star’s death

“Lisa baby girl, I’m so sorry. I’ll miss you but I know I’ll see you again,” actor John Travolta wrote on Instagram.

“Our hearts are broken with the sudden and shocking passing of Lisa Marie Presley tonight,” actress Rita Wilson wrote on Instagram, adding that she and her husband Tom Hanks recently spent time with Presley and her family while they were on the promotional tour for the film “Elvis.”

“Lisa Marie was so honest and direct, vulnerable, in a state of anticipation about the movie. She spoke so eloquently about her father, what the movie meant to her, that it was a celebration of her dad,” Wilson added, alongside photos.

Singer Bette Midler said she was “in shock,” actress Octavia Spencer tweeted that “we’ve lost another bright star in Lisa Marie Presley,” while Mia Farrow tweeted “just so very sad.”

Presley was born on Feb. 1, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee and was the only child of the iconic singer.

She followed in her father’s footsteps and in 2003 released her first album, “To Whom it May Concern,” which reached No.5 on the Billboard 200 chart and went gold.

This was followed by two more albums, “Now What” in 2005, reaching No. 9 on the Billboard 200, and “Storm & Grace” in 2012.

In 2011, she was honored by the governor of Tennessee and mayor of New Orleans for her humanitarian and charitable efforts.

Presley wed four times. From 1988-1994, she was married to musician Danny Keough, with whom she had two children – actress and model Riley Keough, 33, and Benjamin Keough, who committed suicide in 2020 at age 27, which she said “destroyed” her.

Presley and Keough remained close friends, and TMZ reported that he was living on her property until her death and administered CPR on her until paramedics arrived.

She was also married to late pop star Michael Jackson (1994-1996) and actor Nicolas Cage for a few months in 2002.

In 2006 she wed musician and producer Michael Lockwood, and the relationship lasted 10 years. They had twin daughters, Harper and Finley, now 14. EFE
