Moscow, June 25 (EFE).- Russian President Vladimir Putin has said his day begins and ends with paying “priority attention” to the military operation in Ukraine.
In an interview with his press service, Putin said the military campaign was his topmost concern, consuming his focus throughout the day.
“Of course, I pay priority attention (to the special military operation),” he said. “This is how the day begins and this is how it ends.”
The interview with the “Moscow.Kremlin.Putin” TV program was recorded on June 21, days before the Wagner private mercenary group sparked a rebellion against Russian military command in a lightning mutiny that came to a dramatic halt just minutes before the private militia was about to march into the capital city.
Asked if can get an update on the Russian military campaign at 3 am, for example, the president said he “has been staying up quite late lately.”
“Of course, I always have to be in touch. That is the way it goes. Always, I am always in touch. Close by,” he said.
Putin emphasized the importance of being constantly available, stating that it creates a sense of security for everyone.
He asserted that Russia was capable of fulfilling all planned objectives, encompassing defense, special military operations, the overall economy, and specific sectors.
“And without a doubt, we are in a position to fulfill all the plans and tasks that we have set for ourselves. This concerns both the defense of the country and the special military operation,” he said.
The president stressed the necessity of dedicating 24 hours a day to these endeavors, asserting it was impossible otherwise.
Additionally, Putin highlighted Russia’s stable macroeconomic indicators, citing a low inflation rate and robust construction sector performance in 2022 while affirming the steady pace of the economy.
He said inflation in year-on-year terms reached its minimum of 2.3 percent and highlighted the low level of unemployment. EFE
