Basel, Switzerland, (EFE). – England won the 2025 Women’s Euro final in Basel, Switzerland, in a heart-stopping penalty shootout (3-1) against the World Champions, Spain, in a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final in Australia and New Zealand.
Chloe Kelly, who secured the Euro 2022 for England, also sealed this year’s title for the Lionesses by scoring the decisive penalty kick.
Mariona Caldentey opened the scoring for Spain in the 25th minute, finishing Ona Battle’s cross.

England tied the score in the 57th minute with a header by Alessia Russo from a cross by Chloe Kelly.
Neither team was able to break the tie, sending the game to extra time and finally, penalties, which left the world champions wanting a European championship once again.

Royalty from both nations watched the game from the VIP box.
On the English side, Prince William was accompanied by his daughter, Princess Charlotte.
Also present were Princess Leonor of Spain and her younger sister, Infanta Sofía. EFE
