Barcelona, Spain (EFE).- Spanish league leaders FC Barcelona will sport the logo of Rosalía’s most recent album Motomami on the official team shirts during the Clásico match against Real Madrid this weekend.
It will be the second time that Barça have taken to the pitch wearing a sponsor dedicated to a specific musician since streaming giant Spotify became the club’s main sponsor in a deal that included the naming rights to the iconic Camp Nou.
The Catalan side wore shirts emblazoned with Drake’s logo on October 16 in the first LaLiga Clásico of the season at the Santiago Bernabéu. Real Madrid won that game 3-1.
On Sunday it will be the turn of Rosalía, born and raised on the outskirts of Barcelona, to feature on the team’s kit at the Spotify Camp Nou.
Barça Femeni, the women’s team, will also sport her logo when they take on Real Madrid on March 25.
Barça and Spotify chose Rosalía to mark the one year anniversary of her third studio album Motomami, which went on to enjoy international acclaim and solidified the singer’s megastar status.
The album swept the Latin Grammy Awards last year and won the Grammy for Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album.
In 2022, Rosalía was Spotify’s most listened to Spanish artist worldwide.
Barça currently boast a nine point lead at the top of Spain’s top-flight. EFE
