2 killed in Iranian missile strike on Isral’s Haifa

Jerusalem, Apr 6 (EFE).- At least two Israelis were killed when an Iranian missile struck a residential building in the northern port city Haifa on Monday, the Israeli Fire Department reported.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed to EFE that it was a direct hit by an Iranian projectile, and Israel’s Channel 12 reported that it carried a 450-kilogram warhead.

The fire department said that after intense work throughout the night and into the early hours of the morning, firefighters found two bodies trapped under the rubble.

The report states that rescue efforts, carried out in conjunction with teams from the Israeli special rescue unit Lehava and troops from the Home Front Command (a military unit responsible for ensuring the safety of the civilian population), are continuing in an attempt to reach two other people who are cut off from communication.

The Israeli emergency service Magen David Adom (MDA) reported that the impact also injured at least 10 people, including an 82-year-old man in serious condition.

A 10-month-old baby also suffered minor injuries, including a head wound.

Since midnight, Iran has launched four new barrages of missiles against various locations in Israel, including a second attack on Haifa.

According to MDA, the attacks left a 34-year-old woman in serious condition in Petah Tikva (central Israel), in addition to minor injuries: a 30-year-old man in Tel Aviv and four other people in Haifa.

Iranian retaliation against Israeli territory has killed a total of 20 people, including two killed by Hezbollah.

In addition, four Palestinian women were killed after they were struck by an Iranian missile in the occupied West Bank, where there are no shelters or sirens. EFE
