Gaza, Apr 9 (EFE).- The Israeli military killed Mohamed Wishah, a journalist for the Qatari network Al Jazeera, on Wednesday in a drone strike on his vehicle in Gaza City, also killing a second passenger, according to the local Civil Defense and the television network.
Civil Defense teams rushed to the scene of the attack and extinguished the burning car, which was traveling along Al Rashid Street, the coastal road running west of the Gaza capital, the source said.
Inside the vehicle, they found two bodies, both severely burned; one of them was identified as Wishah.

The identity of the second person remains unknown, and both bodies were taken to Al Quds Hospital.
In a statement, Al Jazeera said that Wishah was one of its correspondents for the Mubasher channel, which broadcasts entirely in Arabic and has been airing live broadcasts since 2005.
Hamas condemned the killing and said it adds to a “long series of crimes” that Israel has committed against journalists in the Strip in an attempt to prevent “the truth about the genocide” of the Palestinian people from being spread.
According to the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), Israel has killed at least 210 journalists in Gaza, and its military has committed “more targeted killings of journalists” than any other military since 1992, the year the committee began its monitoring. EFE
