Washington (EFE).- The United States sanctioned the Italian online collective Autistici/Inventati (A/I), the British organization Palestine Action, and the pro-Palestinian network Masar Badil, as well as two of the latter’s leaders on Wednesday, for allegedly threatening the security of the US and its foreign allies, according to Washington.
State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said in a statement that these entities «are specifically designed to support the operations of far-left terrorist networks.»
The sanctions list includes Masar Badil leaders Rawa Alsagheer and Zaid Abdulnasser.
The US government claimed that A/I provides encrypted tools and services to violent far-left extremist groups in the US and around the world. These groups have used the tools to plan or incite violent attacks and recruit individuals to participate in criminal activities.
The department also accuses the network of disseminating instructions for manufacturing improvised explosive and incendiary devices through foreign servers intended to conceal criminal activities from law enforcement.
In another press release, the Treasury Department stated that Palestine Action supported «numerous acts of terrorism since Jul. 2020, including acts that have physically injured UK law enforcement personnel, as well as acts intended to intimidate lawful commercial enterprises and coerce the UK government.»
The statement follows the British government’s Jul. 2025 designation of the group as a terrorist organization.
Furthermore, Washington maintains that Masar Badil acts as a front for the Samidoun Palestinian Prisoners’ Solidarity Network, which the US and Canada sanctioned in 2024.
According to the Treasury Department Masar Badil is inextricably linked to Samidoun, and one of its senior leaders has described it as part of the same political project.
The department designated Rawa Alsagheer, based in Brazil, and Zaid Abdulnasser, based in Germany, as leaders or officials of the organization.
These sanctions are in addition to similar measures taken against other left-wing groups and the designation of entities linked to the Antifa movement as foreign terrorist organizations.
The actions freeze the assets of the aforementioned entities and individuals within the US and prohibit transactions between them and US persons or institutions.EFE
