Trump confirms he will not participate in Republican primary debates

New York City, Aug 20 (EFE).- Former United States President Donald Trump (20017-2021) confirmed Sunday that he would not be taking part in the Republican primary debates, the first of which will be held in Milwaukee on Aug. 23.

Trump took to Truth Social to confirm that he will not be in the debates between the group of Republicans vying for their party’s presidential nomination in next year’s elections.

“The public knows who I am & what a successful Presidency I had,” Trump said.

“I WILL THEREFORE NOT BE DOING THE DEBATES,” added the former president, who is facing several legal cases in New York, Florida, Washington, DC and Georgia.

To participate in the debate, the Republican party requires the candidates to sign a loyalty pledge to support the eventual nominee, which Trump refused to do. EFE
