«Our teams in Hebron are treating a critically wounded 29-year-old man with a bullet in his chest in Al Fawar (refugee camp). He is being transferred to hospital,» the Palestinian Red Crescent reported Tuesday night, when the incident occurred.

The deceased has been identified as Yahya Daniel Awad, according to medical sources. At least four other people were injured, moderately to lightly, in the foot, shoulder and back.

Sources told Palestinian news agency Wafa that the factions declared a general strike in the Al Fawar camp in honor of Awad, who they say was married, had a one-year-old daughter and his wife was pregnant with another girl. EFE
