Kyiv/Moscow, Mar 22 (EFE).- A deadly Russian attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia killed three, including a child, and injured 12 others, regional authorities said on Friday.
The assault coincided with a massive overnight drone offensive, in which Russia launched nearly 200 unmanned aerial vehicles against four Ukrainian regions, intensifying the ongoing conflict.
The head of the Regional Military Administration, Iván Fedórov, said the attack on Zaporizhzhia wiped out an entire family.

“The bodies of the father and daughter were pulled from the rubble, while doctors fought for over 10 hours to save the mother,” Fedórov wrote on Telegram. “Unfortunately, she did not survive.”
Emergency services confirmed that a young girl was among the dead.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched 179 Shahed-type drones along with several decoy drones overnight, targeting the regions of Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Kyiv.
Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down 100 of the attacking drones, while 63 decoy drones failed to reach their intended targets.
On the other side of the border, Russian air defenses claimed to have intercepted 47 Ukrainian drones overnight.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said two people were injured in the southern Rostov region when a drone hit a residential building, exploding near the 17th floor.
Drones also targeted the regions of Bryansk, Samara, Voronezh, and Rostov, according to Russian authorities.
Officials in the Belgorod region said a city employee was killed on Friday while attempting to extinguish a fire caused by a drone strike.
Russia has accused Ukraine of violating the «energy truce» announced by President Vladimir Putin earlier this week, though Kyiv has yet to accept the unilateral ceasefire, insisting it should extend to all civilian infrastructure.
On Mar. 11, Russia reported the downing of 337 Ukrainian drones, marking the largest drone assault on its territory since the war began on February 24, 2022. EFE
