Jerusalem (EFE).– The death toll from Israel’s military offensive in Gaza has risen to more than 69,000, after the enclave’s Ministry of Health added nearly 300 previously unregistered fatalities to its official count.

In a statement released Saturday, the ministry said that 284 deaths had been added to the cumulative toll after verification by the Government Committee for the Accreditation of Deaths between Oct. 31 and Nov. 7, 2025, bringing the total to 69,169.

These newly confirmed cases correspond to people who died before the start of the ceasefire in Gaza but were not yet included in the official database, as the Health Ministry only updates its figures once deaths are recorded in hospital systems.

“Some were buried without ever reaching hospitals, others remain under the rubble. Some arrived at hospitals but were not properly registered,” Zaher al-Waheidi, head of the ministry’s unit responsible for verifying deaths, told EFE.

Verification process According to al-Waheidi, the process of adding unregistered victims begins when relatives submit reports online through a link provided by the Health Ministry.

After the report is filed, families receive a text message instructing them to appear before a court with witnesses and supporting evidence.

If the court confirms the death, the documents are sent to a verification committee made up of representatives from the public prosecutor’s office, the Ministry of Health, and the departments of criminal investigation and forensic evidence.

The committee then determines whether the death was directly related to the war, that is, the result of an Israeli military strike.

Once confirmed, the complainants receive another text message allowing them to obtain an official notification from the Ministry of Health and, subsequently, a death certificate from the authorities.

New deaths in recent days The ministry added that hospitals in the enclave have registered ten new deaths over the past 72 hours. One person was killed in an Israeli attack during this period, while the others were bodies recovered from the rubble or other hard-to-reach areas.

Since the ceasefire in Gaza took effect on Oct.10, 241 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, and 614 have been injured, according to the Health Ministry.

During the same period, Gazan rescue teams have also recovered the bodies of 522 people from beneath the rubble and other inaccessible locations. EFE pbj-sk
