The death of Al Hilu adds to that of the two-week-old baby who died of hypothermia on Monday and the 10 fatalities from collapses during Storm Byron, which hit Gaza from Wednesday to Saturday, Dec. 13, causing flooding in tents and shelters.

Since the ceasefire began on Oct. 10, 394 Palestinians have died, most of whom were civilians, including over 70 children. Additionally, 1,075 people have been injured.

Gaza’s Civil Defense emergency service estimates that 17 buildings collapsed in Gaza due to torrential rains and that over 90 buildings partially collapsed, endangering the population.

Israeli bombings have destroyed 81% of all structures and buildings in Gaza during their offensive. Despite the ceasefire, the army continues to demolish buildings in the 54% of the Strip that remains under its control.EFE
