The Aerocat emergency plan was activated to monitor the situation, although airport operator Aena said operations at Barcelona-El Prat Airport continued normally.

The Catalan regional police (Mossos d’Esquadra) assisted the Civil Guard and airport authorities, while specialists inspected the aircraft.

Officials stressed that the “alleged threat does not affect airport operations.”

Flight TK1853 departed Istanbul at 9:22 a.m. local time and landed at Barcelona-El Prat at 10:57 a.m., both with delays of about 30 minutes, according to FlightRadar24.

The aircraft, carrying 148 passengers and seven crew members, was directed to a secure parking area. Security sources said the threat was received around 10:00 a.m.

Firefighters deployed five crews as a precaution, and local police units from El Prat de Llobregat were also mobilized.

According to flight-tracking data, the plane flew in holding patterns off the Catalan coast for about 20 minutes before landing. EFE
