Sports Desk, Nov 5 (EFE) – Real Madrid, last year’s champions and hot favorites suffered their second UEFA Champions League defeat of the season as AC Milan crushed them 3-1 at the Bernabeu.

The Italian side opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Malick Thiaw, only for Vinicius Jr to equalize from the penalty spot 12 minutes later.

However, Milan was not to be denied and responded superbly to add two more goals to seal a comfortable victory.

Alvaro Morata returned to the Spanish capital to haunt his old team, scoring just before the end of the first half.

Tijjani Reijnders sealed the victory with a third goal in the second half to give the Italians three vital points.

Meanwhile, Liverpool crushed Bayer Leverkusen with a Luiz Diaz hat-trick to make it four wins from four in this season’s Champions League group.

Diaz scored three goals and Cody Gakpo sealed the victory.

Tuesday’s was a bitter defeat for former Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso, who returned to Anfield as coach for the German team.

The result leaves Liverpool alone at the top of their UEFA Champions League group with four wins out of four.

In a third match, Juventus salvaged a point against Lille as Jonathan David’s first-half opener for the French side was canceled out by Dusan Vlahovic’s penalty, leaving both with seven points in four games. EFE
