Tehran, Mar 27 (EFE).- At least 44 people were killed in US and Israeli strikes on the central Iranian cities of Isfahan and Qom, Iranian state media reported Friday.
In Qom, 18 people were killed and 10 others injured in a US-Israeli airstrike, the state-run Tehran Times reported.
In Isfahan, 26 people, including seven children and seven women, were killed in a strike on a residential area, according to Akbar Salehi, deputy governor for security in Isfahan province, quoted by the Tasnim news agency. The attack took place Thursday.
The coordinated US and Israeli strikes against Iran have now continued into the 29th day of the conflict.
Tehran has responded with waves of missile and drone attacks targeting Israel and strategic locations across the Persian Gulf.

Iranian authorities have not issued an official nationwide death toll since Mar. 5, when they reported 1,230 fatalities. However, the US-based opposition group HRANA estimates the death toll at 3,329, including 1,492 civilians.
The United States has not ruled out a ground operation in Iran, prompting renewed threats from Tehran to escalate attacks against Israel and US targets in Gulf countries, and to tighten control over the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al-Mandeb, both crucial to global trade.
US President Donald Trump has extended until Apr. 6 a moratorium on attacks against Iran’s energy infrastructure “at the request of” Tehran, according to a post on his Truth Social platform. EFE
