Messi hopes Barça returns to glory in La Liga, Champions, Copa

Barcelona, Spain, Dec 6 (EFE).- Lionel Messi hopes to see Barcelona reclaim its former dominance, urging the club to compete fiercely for titles and rekindle the winning spirit of his era.

The former Barcelona forward and club wished the Barcelonas reclaimed dominance in La Liga, the Copa del Rey, and the Champions League—achievements that defined his illustrious tenure with the club.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the 37-year-old Argentine, now playing for Inter Miami, reflected on Barça’s enduring legacy as a «global reference» in football.

Still, he emphasized the importance of the club competing for top honors until the end of every season.

«As a Barça player, you can never settle for second place or not winning because the members and fans demand the best from you,» Messi said.

«Being part of the best club in the world comes with high expectations. I’d love to see Barça winning La Liga, the Copa, and the Champions again. And when that’s not possible, at least fight until the very end.»

Regarded as one of the most iconic footballers in the club’s 125-year history, Messi shared a heartfelt message for Barça supporters. «I miss you all very much. I hope we can see each other again soon and that you continue to feel proud to be part of the best club in the world.»

Messi remains a beloved figure among Barcelona fans, who cherish the memory of his 21 years with the club, during which he helped secure 35 trophies, including four Champions League titles. EFE
