Sports Desk, Jun 18 (EFE) – A balanced, uneventful match ended in a goalless draw, allowing England to advance to the round of 16 as group winners and Slovenia to seal qualification at the Cologne Stadium in Germany.

Despite an outstanding attacking line featuring Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham (who scored against Serbia), Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane (who scored against Denmark), and Manchester City’s Phil Foden and Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka, who both failed to find the back of the net, current European runners-up England failed to show what they are made of.

The Three Lions will now move up the Championship avoiding the other favorites who advanced to the round of sixteen – Spain, Germany Portugal, and France – until a hypothetical final.

For Slovenia, the draw was a pleasing result, propelling them into the round of 16 for the first time in their history in a major competition.EFE
