Kyiv, Apr 19 (EFE).- At least eight people, including two children, were killed in a Russian missile attack against central Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region early Friday, officials said.
“They killed 8 people, including two small children,” the head of the regional military administration, Serhiy Lysak, said on Telegram.
“There are currently 25 victims,” he added.
A five-story building was partially damaged in the attack after catching fire in the region’s capital city, Dnipro.
Two infrastructure buildings were also damaged, according to the official.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Telegram that rescue operations were underway in Dnipro and the injured were being treated.
“Kryvyi Rih and Synelnikove were also under attack in the Dnipro region,” he said.
“We must defeat Russian terror. This is a need not only of our state, not only of Ukrainians – it is a global need,” added the Ukrainian leader, who once again called on allied countries to provide air defense systems to Ukraine. EFE
