Moscow, Aug 11 (EFE) – Russia said on Sunday that Ukrainian forces have suffered up to 1,350 casualties since the start of a ground incursion into Russia’s Kursk region, now in its sixth day.
According to the defense ministry report, since the fighting began in Kursk, near the border with Ukraine, “the enemy has lost up to 1,350 personnel and 29 tanks,” along with other military equipment.
In the past 24 hours alone, Kyiv’s casualties reportedly reached 230 soldiers, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The Russian military also reported new attempts by Ukrainian forces to advance as part of the Kursk offensive, which were repelled by the Russian Army.
Russia has been engaged in fighting for six consecutive days against Ukrainian forces that entered the Kursk region on Tuesday. According to military bloggers and analysts, these forces managed to penetrate between 15 and 35 km into Russian territory.
The fighting in Kursk has caused people to flee border areas with Ukraine to safer locations within the region and beyond.
As of Sunday, at least 88,000 people have been evacuated from border towns, according to the latest data. EFE
