Iran warns Israel: ‘Don’t test our will’

Tehran, Oct 8 (EFE).- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned Israel against retaliating for last week’s missile attack, vowing that any strike on Iran’s infrastructure would provoke a “stronger response.”

The warning came as tensions between the two nations continued to escalate in the Middle Eastern region that has been on the edge.

“We urge Israel not to test our will,” Araghchi said during an event commemorating the anniversary of the Islamist Hamas group’s attack on Israel that claimed 1,200 lives on October 7 last year.

“Any attack on Iran’s infrastructure will be met with a stronger response,” Iran’s top diplomat said. “They have witnessed the power of our missiles.”

Araqchi reaffirmed Tehran’s unwavering support for the Axis of Resistance, an informal alliance led by Iran that includes Lebanese Hezbollah, Yemeni Houthis, and Hamas militant groups.

“We have supported the resistance in the past, we do so now, and we will continue to do so,” he said, adding that the deaths of some leaders from these groups would not weaken the resolve of the resistance or Iran.

The event, held at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, was attended by foreign ambassadors and other high-ranking Iranian officials.

A rally in support of the Axis of Resistance is scheduled for this afternoon in Tehran’s Palestine Square.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard launched approximately 180 missiles at Israel last Tuesday in retaliation for the killings of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and an Iranian general in Beirut, as well as Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran in July.

Israel has vowed to retaliate, with various Iranian political and military authorities repeatedly warning that any Israeli response would be met with even greater force. EFE
