English Desk, Oct 31 (EFE). – Halloween has become a global phenomenon involving parades, costumes and trick or treating around the world.

From lighting candles to dressing up as witches and eating too much candy, there are huge differences in how people celebrate the day.

While trick-or-treating and dressing up as ghosts are increasingly common, each country has its own twist, using the occasion to celebrate local legends and traditions.

In the United States, Halloween this year coincides with the final days of the presidential campaign, which has inspired many to put up election-themed Halloween decorations.

In Washington’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, pro-Democratic signs share yard space with cobwebs, pumpkins, skeletons and ghosts.
