At least 7 killed in second deadly Russian attack on Ukraine’s Sumy in two days

Kyiv, Nov 19 (EFE).- At least seven people were killed and 12 injured late Monday after a Russian drone attack in Hlukhiv in the Sumy region, in northeastern Ukraine, local authorities reported Tuesday.

This is the second deadly Russian attack this week against the region, where eleven people died early Monday when a missile hit a residential building.

Another 10 people were killed in a Russian missile strike against the southern city of Odesa on Monday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned Monday night’s attack.

“Last night, a drone hit Hlukhiv, destroying a dormitory at one of the local educational institutions. Tragically, as of now, we know that seven people, including a child, were killed in this attack,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.

“Each day, we urge the world to be resolute and strong enough for Ukraine, to block these attacks on our people. Every new Russian strike only confirms (Russian President Vladimir) Putin’s true intentions,” he added.

The Ukrainian leader also accused Putin of wanting to prolong the war.

“He wants the war to continue, he is not interested in talking about peace. We must force Russia into a just peace,” he said. EFE
