Ukraine drone strike kills 3 civilians in Russia’s Belgorod

Moscow, Feb 6 (EFE).- At least three Russian civilians, including a child, were killed on Thursday in a Ukrainian drone attack in Belgorod region in Russia, local authorities reported.

“Three people were killed as a result of an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the village of Logachyovka,” Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said on his Telegram channel.

“According to preliminary data, a drone dropped an explosive device on a passenger car. At the time of the attack, inside the vehicle were a man and two girls, aged 18 and 14. They died on the spot,” he added.

Logachyovka, a village with fewer than 400 residents before the war, is located right on the border with Ukraine.

Gladkov said that the attack occurred in a region that has been under a “state of emergency” since October 2022 due to sporadic Ukrainian strikes.

“Therefore, I once again urge all residents to avoid localities that have been closed by order of the operational headquarters,” he added.

Ukrainian forces have increased cross-border attacks in Russian border regions, particularly since launching an incursion into the Kursk region in August 2024.

Ukraine and Russia have increasingly relied on drones and guided missiles against each other in the ongoing conflict, which began in February 2022. EFE
