Madrid (EFE).- Trent Alexander-Arnold was presented as a new player for Real Madrid on Thursday.
During the presentation ceremony, the England full-back surprised everyone by delivering his entire speech in Spanish, telling those present that joining Real Madrid was “a dream come true.”
“Thank you to the president, Florentino Pérez, and Real Madrid for this opportunity. Being signed by a club like Real Madrid doesn’t happen every day. It’s a dream come true, and I’m very happy and proud to be here,” he said after being welcomed by the Madrid president.
His family sat in the front row at the presentation ceremony, held in Real Madrid’s basketball hall. Members of the board of directors, honorary president Pirri and former players such as Roberto Carlos, Emilio Butragueño, Santi Solari and Álvaro Arbeloa were also in attendance.
“I’m looking forward to showing the Madridistas what I can do, but I’m also aware that playing for Real Madrid comes with a lot of responsibility. I’m ready to give my all for the team and the fans,” he said.
“I want to showcase my soccer skills and win many titles. I want to be a champion, develop as a player, and enjoy playing alongside the best in the world. Thank you, and Hala Madrid!” he concluded. EFE
