Moscow, June 16 (EFE).– Russia’s Pacific Fleet has launched large-scale naval exercises involving up to 40 warships, more than 30 aircraft and helicopters, and over 5,000 military personnel, according to an official statement.
The exercises will continue through the end of the month and will be conducted in the Pacific Ocean, as well as the Sea of Japan and the Sea of Okhotsk, the fleet announced.
“At this moment, Pacific Fleet forces are moving from their bases to the designated exercise zones,” the statement said.
The drills include search and tracking operations for simulated enemy submarines, as well as defensive maneuvers against air and naval attacks.
The fleet will also conduct missile launches aimed at both individual and group targets. EFE
