Ozzy Osbourne dies weeks after final show with Black Sabbath

London (EFE). – Legendary heavy metal singer Ozzy Osbourne died at the age of 76, just weeks after reuniting with Black Sabbath for a farewell concert at Villa Park in Birmingham.

The news was confirmed Monday morning by his family.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love,” his family said in a statement.

Osbourne, one of the pioneers of heavy metal, rose to fame in the 1970s as the frontman of Black Sabbath, with iconic hits such as “Paranoid,” “War Pigs,” and “Iron Man.”

He later achieved global success as a solo artist with tracks like “Crazy Train” and “Changes.”

Less than three weeks ago, the British rock star took the stage during a massive farewell concert featuring Metallica and Guns N’ Roses.

“You’ve no idea how I feel, thank you from the bottom of my heart,” he told fans at the time.

However, Osbourne had battled health problems in recent years, including Parkinson’s disease and complications from a fall in 2019.

In addition to his music career, Osbourne became a pop culture figure through the MTV reality show “The Osbournes,” which followed his family life in Los Angeles.

He was twice inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of Black Sabbath and as a solo artist.

He was also honored with a star on both the Hollywood Walk of Fame and Birmingham’s Broad Street. EFE
