Jakarta (EFE).- At least 54 people, including students, were injured on Friday in an explosion at a mosque inside a school complex in Indonesia’s capital city, Jakarta, while authorities investigate the cause of the accident.
“Some have minor injuries, some moderate, and some have already been discharged,” Asep Edi Suheri, head of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, told the media.
The explosion, whose cause has not yet been determined, occurred during Friday prayers, added the official in the country with the world’s largest Muslim population.

The ages of those affected are currently unknown.
Indonesian authorities have deployed heavily armed personnel and police to the site while they try to determine the cause of the explosion.

A video circulated on social media shows a young man being rushed on a stretcher by several students from the school. EFE
