Documentary ‘Melania’ director appears in Epstein files photograph

London (EFE).- Brett Ratner, director of the controversial documentary “Melania,” appears alongside a young woman in one of the declassified documents known as the “Epstein files,” according to a report published Sunday by the BBC.

In an undated photograph included in the files, Ratner is seen with his arm around the waist of a young woman as they sit on a sofa with financier Jeffrey Epstein and another woman.

The faces of both women are obscured, making it impossible to determine their identities or ages.

The image is part of a broader set of photographs in which Ratner appears to be inside one of Epstein’s residences, either alone, with Epstein, or in the company of women whose faces are similarly concealed.

Ratner, 56, is known for directing the Rush Hour film franchise as well as “X-Men: The Last Stand.”

He has previously faced accusations of inappropriate behavior by at least six actresses, who came forward in 2017 during the height of the #MeToo movement.

One accuser alleged that Ratner masturbated in front of her during a film shoot. Through his lawyers, the filmmaker has consistently denied all allegations.

The resurfacing of the photographs coincides with the release of “Melania,” a documentary examining the role of Melania Trump as US first lady.

The film has had a muted theatrical reception ahead of its planned release on Amazon Prime Video.

According to media reports, Amazon invested about $40 million in the project, including an estimated $28 million paid directly to Melania Trump.

The documentary focuses on behind-the-scenes moments in the days leading up to Donald Trump’s second presidential inauguration.

On Sunday, Rolling Stone described the film as “a failure in practically all aspects,” citing sources from Ratner’s production team who said the shoot was chaotic and poorly organized.

Those sources reportedly defended Melania Trump from criticism but accused Ratner of repeated disrespect toward crew members, claiming that many later requested their names be removed from the film’s credits to avoid future association with him. EFE
