BTS’s V releases new single ‘FRI(END)S’

Seoul, Mar 15 (EFE).- Singer V, member of South Korean K-pop band BTS, released his new single “FRI(END)S” on Friday, marking his first solo project since releasing his first studio album “Layover” in September last year.

The song is in English and narrates a confession of love between friends, according to the group’s management agency, BigHit Music.

Besides the song’s release, a video clip of it was also posted on YouTube on Friday, where V plays two parallel realities: one in which he is single and lives a desolate life, surrounded by couples; and another in which he wakes up with his girlfriend.

Members of the BTS, the most popular K-Pop group, announced a temporary separation in the summer of 2022, nine years after their musical debut and attributed their decision to exhaustion.

Some members of the popular ensemble – made up of RM, Jimin, Jin, V, Suga, J-Hope and Jungkook – are working on their solo careers, while others are undergoing compulsory military service in their country, which lasts a minimum of 18 months.

The band is expected to reunite around 2025. EFE
