Madrid, Apr 2 (EFE).- Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to meet in the final of the Copa del Rey for the eighth time in the tournament’s history after defeating Real Sociedad and Atletico de Madrid, respectively, in the semi-finals.

Real have the edge in the all-time record, having beaten Barcelona four times.

This will be the first time that ‘El Clasico’ has been played at La Cartuja in a Copa del Rey final, following four at the Mestalla (Valencia) and one each at the Santiago Bernabéu, Vicente Calderón (both in Madrid) and La Romareda (Zaragoza).
Barcelona go into the game determined to extend their lead at the top of the Copa del Rey table, where they have 31 titles – seven more than Athletic – while Real Madrid are looking for their 21st title. EFE
