Paris, Jul 25 (EFE).- Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly given Al Hilal permission to open talks with Kylian Mbappé, after the Saudi Arabian club offered a record 300 million euros to buy the forward.

Reports in French media on Tuesday said if he signs with the Saudi club, Mbappe will be offered an eye-watering 700 million euros per year.

While Mbappé has not publicly responded to the news, he posted on Twitter late on Monday night with 13 laughing emojis in a reply to a Tweet by Greek NBA basketball star Giannis Antetokoumpo, in which he jokingly said “Al Hilal you can take me. I look like Kylian Mbappe”.

PSG are looking to cash in on their star player after he said earlier this summer that he would stay at the club until his contract ends in June 2024, when he would be allowed to leave for free, with Real Madrid widely assumed to be his next destination.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has said that the club would not tolerate such a scenario, calling the prospect of Mbappé – one of the world’s most coveted strikers – leaving without a transfer fee “impossible”.

Mbappé has refused to sign an extension to his current deal, and he has been left out of PSG’s pre-season tour of Asia.

PSG paid 180 million euros in 2017 to sign Mbappé from AS Monaco, and he looked poised to leave for Real Madrid in 2022 before he surprisingly signed an extension to remain in Paris. EFE
