Trump posts AI image as Jesus after spat with Pope

International Desk, Apr 13 (EFE).- US President Donald Trump, published on Sunday night what appeared to be AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus Christ hours after lashing out at the Pope over criticism of the US-Israel war against Iran.

The Republican president uploaded the image on Truth Social showing him in a white robe and red sash and seeming to heal a man while being surrounded by soldiers, a nurse and a praying woman.

In the background appears the American flag, two flying eagles and soldiers as angels in the sky, as well as the Statue of Liberty and several iconic US buildings and monuments.

The publication of the image came hours after Trump lashed out at Pope Leo XIV and said he was «terrible for foreign policy» alluding to his criticism of the war on Iran and the attack on Venezuela, and urged him to «stop catering to the Radical Left.»

«Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy,» the president wrote on his Truth Social network, in a lengthy message in which he urged him to «focus on being a Great Pope, not a Politician,» because «it’s hurting the Catholic Church.»

The pope responded to the president’s remarks, reminding him that the gospel was clear and that the Church had a moral duty to speak out against war.

«The things that I say are certainly not meant as attacks on anyone. The message of the Gospel is very clear: ‘Blessed are the peacemakers,'» he told reporters aboard a papal flight to Africa.

He added that he didn’t fear the Trump administration and would not shy away from announcing the message of the Gospel.

«I am not a politician, I have no intention of entering into a debate with (Trump). Rather, let us always seek peace and put an end to wars. I am not afraid of the Trump administration. I speak about the Gospel,» he said. EFE
