Seoul, Aug 7 (EFE).- South Korean police searched Jeju International Airport after a bomb threat was posted online, according to authorities on Monday.

At 9.07pm local time (12:15 GMT) on Sunday a post was uploaded to an internet community threatening to “launch a terrorist bombing attack on Jeju International Airport at two o’clock on Monday,” according to police officials.

The unidentified writer also said that the bomb had already been installed at the airport and threatened to stab those who left, news agency Yonhap reported.

No explosives were found in a two-hour search of the airport.

Police were deployed to the airport on Monday to respond to any emergency and vowed to sternly punish the suspect.

The threat comes after a teacher was stabbed to death at a high school in the South Korean city of Daejeon on Friday, the second stabbing incident in the country in 24 hours.

Earlier, another man carried out a car ramming on a street and stabbing attack at a mall in Seongnam, south of Seoul, leaving one person dead and 13 people wounded, Yonhap reported.

Another incident took place on July 21 when a man began stabbing pedestrians on a street in the capital, leaving one dead and three injured.

Threats from anonymous individuals saying they would carry out mass stabbings have also been posted to social media, forcing South Korean police to launch many investigations and intensify surveillance. EFE
