Moscow, Oct 31 (EFE).- The US embassy in Moscow has warned Russian authorities of a «real threat» of a terrorist attack that could cause numerous casualties at the Tsaritsyno museum complex in the Russian capital, urging US citizens to stay away from the site.

«The US Embassy in Moscow has received information about a real threat of an attack that could cause numerous victims on October 31 at the Tsaritsyno museum-reserve,» the diplomatic mission said on its official website.

The embassy added that the US government was coordinating response measures with the relevant Russian authorities.

It urged American citizens not to visit the museum, where a concert is scheduled for Saturday evening, and to keep away from the surrounding area.

The diplomatic mission also advised US citizens to remain alert, review their personal security plans, keep their mobile phones charged, carry identification and follow local media for updates.

Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) confirmed it had received the information from the US side and said it was taking appropriate measures.

Located in southern Moscow, the museum complex covers more than 405 hectares and includes palaces featuring neo-Gothic architecture, as well as extensive woodland, bridges and ponds.

It is a popular recreational area for residents of the Russian capital.

The US Embassy issued a similar warning in March 2024, about two weeks before the attack on the Crocus City Hall concert venue near Moscow, in which 145 people were killed.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack. EFE
